Position Overview
We are looking for a Metal Fabricator to work on a broad range of restoration and preservation projects. Experience working with pre-WW II through 1960s vehicles, specifically European marques, is preferred but not required. Our metal fabricators work closely with all other departments during disassembly, reassembly, and component rebuilding.
The Metal Shop Fabricators work as a team with other Senior Craftsmen in the metal shop, but also are expected to complete assigned tasks independently. Applicants must have a willingness to learn from others, a desire to understand technology that is more than a half-century old, and the ability to produce work that is a strict replication of the design and craftsmanship of the original builders.
Job Requirements
- Practical understanding of and experience with TIG welding
- Fabrication and fitting of complete body and repair panels
- Reshaping and repairing existing panels
- Lead work and panel gapping
- Fabrication of small body parts, such as, grilles, trim work, and window frames
- Remanufacture of mechanical parts, such as, exhaust headers, and suspension parts
- Experience with fundamental tools of a panel shop
- Must possess a basic set of metalworking hand tools: wrenches, pliers, layout tools, hammers, dollies
- Core understanding of vehicle mechanical systems

- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds without injury
- Full body mobility and the ability to twist, turn, bend at the waist, and work on your feet for extended periods of time, sometimes with your hands above your head or under dashboards
- Ability to take instruction, actively listen, and work independently
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work bay
- A valid driver’s license and clean record
